Kopi Ketjil is a community based third-wave artisan coffee and roaster. Based in cultural city Jogjakarta, INDONESIA it was founded by Octaviana Rombe, an Indonesian woman who has a background in Architecture. She was educated in Indonesia and also in Washington DC, USA. Her passion for coffee is in her blood, as her father’s family is from Toraja, a highland where one of the best Indonesian Arabica coffee is famous in the international market. Since a young age, she has had a massive interest in coffee. Octaviana is self-taught in her trade and has thoroughly researched the world of coffee. She obtained an International license for coffee by undertaking SCAE courses and licensing in Singapore, Melbourne, and Trieste, Italy, achieving a European standard for specialty coffee.

Kopi Ketjil itself means ‘small coffee’, a small bean that has a great value. Kopi ketjil was official launched in 2014.

The company is mostly managed by young people, who are students in many disciplines.

We brew coffee that we roast ourselves, using the best Indonesian coffee beans directly from the Indonesian archipelago farmers. We provide farmers with seeds and knowledge in the coffee plantation so they can grow coffee with the best method. We buy red and green bean coffee at a decent price to support the farmer’s family.
Together with the local farming community, we prepare the best Indonesian green bean to be roasted in Kopi Ketjil’s roasters. We roast with love and passion from our humble roasters located in Jogjakarta, INDONESIA. We also do small customized batches of coffee for roasting, focusing on the best single-origin Indonesian coffee. We share our love for Indonesian coffee with everyone!
